As the material handling industry moves towards electric-powered lift trucks, dealerships need a reliable partner to serve their industrial battery needs. To meet the growing demand, UniCarriers Americas (UCA) has expanded its DURA-LIFT aftermarket sales program with its recent partnership with Striker Power Systems. Dealers now have access to the complete product and service offering of Striker.
Striker Power Systems is a U.S.-based motive power company that specializes in the material handling industry and whose owners have over 35 years of experience. Their dedicated support staff makes sure that every battery and charger shipped from Illinois meets customers’ specifications.
UCA dealers have access to all batteries and charger products (including Lithium batteries and high-efficiency chargers), parts and services, watering systems, battery handling equipment and educational tools and support. All purchases count toward the dealership’s DURA-LIFT parts goal.
Hear from Striker Power’s president, Sean McNeil, who spoke with UCA TV during the Forklift Industry Summit about the program:
“The ultimate goal is to create a customized solution and to develop a long-term relationship with dealers,” said Kevin Fick, director of aftermarket sales for UniCarriers Americas. “Striker starts with an individual assessment of the customer’s needs, allowing them to provide a solution tailored specifically for each situation, an advantage that we think will serve as a benefit for our network.”
Through the program, Striker offers additional services that dealers can take advantage of. For example, if a dealership is working on a project that’s part of a new facility and planning to build out a battery area, Striker can help design those rooms. Dealership branding is also available for batteries, chargers and handling equipment.
“Electric truck sales are growing and will play an even greater role in the material handling industry,” said Fick. “As more fleets convert to using more electric trucks, there will be more need for Striker.”
UCA is working on ways to reduce lead times for dealers to order batteries and chargers with the forklifts and have the batteries installed at the factory. Currently batteries can be installed at the factory through the Truck Modification Request (TMR) process.
New Equipment Sales Drop Ship Process: When dealers place forklift orders with UniCarriers, they will receive a MacPac order number. Dealers will then place their battery and charger order with Striker and provide the MacPac order number. Striker Power will then coordinate the shipment of batteries to arrive around the same time as the delivery of forklifts to the dealership. Only when the batteries have shipped will the dealer be invoiced for the order.
