UniCarriers Americas (UCA) had a record-breaking year in 2017. UCA sold the largest number of lift trucks in a single year than ever before, and its aftermarket numbers were equally impressive, resulting in a revenue increase of 19 percent.
This accomplishment means a lot to UCA’s ownership, employees and dealers – it means bigger things ahead. “The more we succeed, the more opportunities we will have to invest in our future and the technology that drives growth,” said James J. Radous III, president of UniCarriers Americas.
UCA recently announced the addition of a design center that will more than double the research and development testing lab space, from approximately 6,000 square feet to 13,000 square feet. Not only will the Americas Design Center grow UCA’s talented team of engineers but provide tremendous opportunity to excel to new levels by incorporating and creating the best in technology.
“It’s been a notable year for UCA in the company’s 100-plus-year history. By achieving record goals, it allows us to attract top talent and add the latest in technology and automation,” Radous said. “We will build and deploy a more advanced product line, and what that means for our dealers, is that they are able to continue to offer the very best to their customers.”
In addition to breaking records and adding new facilities, UCA announced its first Forklift Industry Summit. The summit, slated for October 10-12, 2018, will bring together dealers, suppliers, industry leaders and media for the first time in the same setting, making it the biggest and most unique event hosted by UCA to date.
“The best is yet to come,” said Radous. “As we continue down this exciting path, we will never quit working to bring the most reliable products to the materials handling industry.”
