Company-wide initiatives bring hope and optimism to children with critical illnesses.

Marengo, IL. – February 2018 – In what has become an annual tradition in Marengo, UniCarriers Americas (UCA) has announced a variety of employee-led fundraising activities for its 2018 Make-A-Wish® Illinois Campaign.

In addition to a donation by the company, employees are enthusiastically supporting several fundraising events. Activities include a silent auction, the ability to purchase “extra casual day” stickers, a 50/50 raffle, bake sale and a chili cook-off. Proceeds from each event will support Make-A-Wish® in granting wishes for children like seven-year-old Lauren. Diagnosed with cancer, Lauren and her family will experience her wish to visit the magical theme parks of Orlando, Florida. Research says wishes increase hope, which can impact the physical health of a child battling critical illness.

“I speak for all of us at UniCarriers when I say it’s an honor and a privilege to support Make-A-Wish® and especially young Lauren,” said James J. Radous III, President of UniCarriers Americas. “We take great pride in supporting our local community and being able to make a difference in a young person’s life. It’s incredibly humbling to watch everyone from our company eager to take part in so many unique ways.”

UCA has been actively supporting local charities for more than 16 years, having donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to charities serving McHenry County and the greater Chicago area. The company works with Make-A-Wish Illinois, the local chapter of the largest wish-granting organization in the world.

“We have a really wonderful community and a selfless group of employees who are all looking to find new ways to give back,” Radous added.
